summer sun

Don't get me wrong, I do love snow and winter air... but sometimes, when there's that bitter wind chill, and you can't stop shivering, you have to do that self-talk to convince your body that it's warmer than it is! Here's a photo from my summer vacation in the Dominican Republic, the view from one of the places Becky and I stayed. Perhaps this will help you northerners with your mental imagery. :)

snow day

What a gorgeous winter storm-- white-out conditions. I cracked up when I saw Lucy stalking the big snowflakes through the front window!

And earlier Cosmo was the perfect audience for Bryce, as he returned from clearing out the mailbox.

mission accomplished

I got absolutely nothing done on a portfolio that's due for a grad class, however I did manage to put together this shelving unit for my sweaters. Yes, that's right, I had to use a screwdriver and a hammer to complete the job. At least one person, er, I mean, animal, is impressed with my work!

when the weather outside is frightful...

Actually, I find it quite delightful! We went snowshoeing yesterday, and the air is so crisp... today has been less than perfect, though, with a freezing rain. Here is a photo taken by me, spying on Bryce's snow-throwing progress through the kitchen window this morning (so if it's smudgy-looking, that's why-- my stealthy spy efforts... um, rather, my lack of motivation to brave the cold).
At times, Bryce had to manhandle the snowthrower to get it to cooperate...

hmmm...

I'd heard many good things about the Neti-Pot... my doctor even said that she's heard only really great things from her patients that have used it. So, after over a week of dealing with my scabby/mucus-hardened nose, I decided to try it! Rite-Aid carried this version, which is a modified Neti-Pot (the Neti-Pot is like a pourable tea-pot, whereas this is a squeezable option). Below is a photo of the Sinus Rinse in action (from google images-- i didn't have bryce take one of me, but I did make him come in and see the solution as it poured out the other nostril!)... Very exciting.
